Professional Background

Cindy currently serves as the ranking minority member on the Insurance Committee as well as serving on Child Welfare and Foster Care, Energy, Elections, and Utilities,  Telecommunications, and Legislative Modernization Committees. She is also a member of the Joint Committee on Pensions, Investments and Benefits and served on the 2024 Special Committee on Sedation Denistry.

Before retirement, Cindy spent most of her career as a Medical Administrator for a Multi-Specialty Group with offices in Wyandotte and Johnson County. She worked for Discover Dental handling sedation patients. She also spent 9 years working for Shawnee Mission schools in various roles while raising her children.

Family​

Cindy is married to Jim, a retired airline pilot and former Shawnee City Councilman.  They have four grown children, all graduates of the Shawnee Mission School District: Samantha, Jamie, Kim and Justin. Cindy has four grown grandsons and a great grandchild on the way. She enjoys that most of the family is close by and can gather for family cookouts, and she loves the ocassional trip when time allows to visit Jamie in The Netherlands.
